TCI has an immediate need for a Business Intelligence Analyst in Louisville, KY.  This is not a Corp2Corp opportunity.  This is a 6 month contract opportunity.  In addition to competitive, market-rate based pay, TCI provides all our Consultants with Comprehensive Medical/Dental Insurance, 401k, Life Insurance and Long Term Disability benefits.

SUMMARY

Our Client is a nonprofit community-based health plan administering Medicaid benefits. Since 1997, our Client has been working closely with local providers and community advocates to fulfill its mission, to improve the health and quality of life of its members.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will leverage Business Intelligence and Data Analytic best practices to deliver relevant, timely and insightful information to the business, while helping grow and champion the organization around BI. This includes gathering, data modeling, report creation and automation, end user education and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and assist in the development of reporting, analysis and visualization of business data, metrics and measures in order to allow staff to align and track against overall business strategies, goals and objectives, drive innovation, insight and decision making.
  • Maintain library portfolio of model documents, templates, or other reusable BI assets.
  • Assist with logical and physical data modeling to support business intelligence initiatives.
  • Support internal platform providing ad-hoc access to large or varied datasets, including the development of new scripts, queries or reports
  • Performs statistical analysis against healthcare data to develop models and identify trends in support of the business.
  • Assist with implementation of data quality improvement processes and initiatives.
  • Primary need - Assist with development of ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Loading) processes to acquire and load data from internal and external sources.
  • Represents the IT team through interaction with business users to gather reporting and analytic requirements.
  • Collaborates with developers, stakeholders and subject-matter experts to establish technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art/industry relevant tools, techniques, and equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or comparable experience.
  • Proficient experience using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a Windows operating system.
  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Healthcare Information or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years data analysis and business intelligence experience working with BI suites such as Tableau, MSI, SAP BO, Cognos, SSRS/SSAS, or other enterprise class tools.
  • 1-2 years of experience with ETL technologies (Informatica, Datastage, Adeptia, SSIS, Pervasive Data Integrator, Talend or other enterprise class tools preferred.
  • 1-2 years healthcare data background preferred.
  • Certifications preferred (CBIP certification, MCSE: Business Intelligence certification, and/or ITIL3 certification).

Key Competencies/Success Factors:

  • Thorough knowledge of data architecture and data management principles.
  • Deep understanding of database systems including both relational and OLAP designs.
  • Proven experience in business intelligence and data analytics.
  • Relevant experience with UI development and/or BI data visualization techniques
  • Thorough working knowledge of statistical data analysis.
  • Excellent priority and time management skills; Can effectively implement multiple projects.
  • Strong SQL and report development and optimization experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to partner with business professionals or groups (which may include group speaking) in order to evangelize IT efforts in our workplace
  • Ability to organize information in an effective manner, to showcase relationships, qualities, quantities, and priorities, in a non-trivial but accessible and impactful manner.
  • Proficient experience using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a Windows operating system.
