The Desktop Support Technician’s primary responsibilities will be to assist staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications and related technology.


  • Desktop Support includes specification, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.
  • Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems.
  • The position utilizes one-on-ne consultancy to end users and Network staff. Alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software with established standards and guidelines.
  • Works with Help Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from users.
  • Must be able to interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems. 


  • 3-4+ years of technical experience in an enterprise helpdesk or desktop support role.
  • Secondary certification relative to the Computing Environment (A+, Microsoft, etc.) is required.
  • Direct experience with hands-on Desktop Support.
  • Knowledge of and experience troubleshooting Windows 7.
  • Basic Hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment. 
  • Knowledge of ISO/ITIL processes and documentation standards a must.
  • Must be knowledgeable with the concepts and policy controls of Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of and experience with printer mapping, LAN/WAN network configuration and troubleshooting, as well as VPN client connectivity.
  • Prior Army or Army Recruiting experience is a plus.
  • Candidate must possess a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Candidate must possess a valid CompTia Security+ Certification.
